Beautiful cottage, cosy and superbly equipped. Location idyllic, perfect for walking and exploring the area, and Hadrian’s Wall. Village Hotel with bar serving good beer!
Great location, cottage clean and tidy, good value for money. Host was welcoming, a problem we had with the heating was sorted within the hour very efficient.

Really nice cottage in a lovely part of the world. We enjoyed visiting Hadrian's Wall and associated Roman museums. Hexham had a nice feel to it and the local pub was welcoming. I would highly recommend.
The cottage was brilliant: well appointed, comfortable, and characterful. Couldn't have been better.
Comfortable and well equipped cottage in a great location, our second visit.
The owner of the cottage was extremely friendly and very helpful. The cottage itself had everything you could have wanted - a real home from home. The wooden beams added to its appeal, although our son who is 6ft 2ins had to be careful upstairs!! Lovely quiet village in great location. Great for visiting Hadrian’s Wall and all the Roman sites around. Hexham has good supermarkets and is a nice market town. A visit to Edinburgh is also possible from here. All in all a very enjoyable holiday and we would recommend Church Cottage to everyone. Would love to go back.
We stayed the last week in March 2018, the temperatures outside was between 2 - 6 degrees during the night and the cottage remained very warm and comfortable inside. We had the option of using the log fire, but we were warm enough not to need it. The Wi-fi maintained great reception, we enjoyed the use of Netflix when we were not playing the Yorkshire edition of Monopoly that was provided. The cottage far exceeded our expectations, with large rooms and was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable & this is a very well presented cottage - well done to the owner Jane 🙂
Fantastic location and lovely cottage. Will be back again for longer next time.
Church Cottage is idyllic, located in a charming village, I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, cozy, peaceful stay
Lovely property - helpful owner too. Everything we needed for our stay was there, and we were in a good location to see all we wanted to in the area. Great for our daughter as small park behind the house and lovely walk up the hill for fab views!
Church Cottage is a lovely house with plenty of character. Our family is scattered around the country and none of us has a house big enough to accommodate a large family - this weekend provided us quality time together and was like a home away from home! Jane was a fantastic host and really thoughtful. Upon booking, we were delighted to find out that a highchair was available, however, the rest of it truly exceeded expectations - stair gates, fire guard, a toy box, and even bath toys! Happy baby! Thank you ever so much. Highly recommended!
Friendly and helpful owner. Stayed before Christmas and delighted to find a lovely tree and decorations in the cottage. We loved this cottage. Photos don't do it really is a beautifully renovated house. Loved the wooddburner and comfy sofas. Loved the bed. In fact, we loved everything!! Great area/location.
Fantastic little cottage. Very comfortable and bigger in real life as compared to the photos. Log burner was superb and kept the whole house very warm in the evening.
